Suggested Items let you surface additional products or activities to guests during checkout. When a guest books an activity, TripWorks shows your configured suggestions on the checkout screen — they can add them to their booking in a few taps without starting over.
You can suggest two types of items: Products (physical or add-on items like merchandise, photo packages, or equipment rentals) and Activities (other bookable experiences you offer). Suggestions are configured per activity, so you can tailor what's offered based on what makes sense for each experience.
Before you configure
Any product or activity you want to suggest must already exist in your catalog before you can add it as a suggestion. Set up your products in Setup > Products and your activities in Setup > Activities first.
Set up suggested items
- Go to Setup > Activities and select the activity you want to configure.
- In the left sidebar, select Suggested.

- Select the activities and/or products you want to display as suggestions during checkout.
- For each suggested product, choose who sees the prompt:
- Lead guest only — one prompt appears regardless of group size. Use this for group-level items like a photo package or a souvenir that one person buys for the group.
- Every guest — a prompt appears for each ticket on the booking. Use this for per-person items like individual t-shirts or rental equipment.

- Click Save.
After saving, the suggested items appear at checkout for new bookings of this activity.

Require a suggested activity
If guests must book a specific activity alongside this one — for example, a return trip when the outbound and return legs are booked separately — you can make the suggestion mandatory. Enable Require at least one suggested activity during booking and guests won't be able to complete checkout without selecting at least one of the suggested activities.

Only use the required option when guests genuinely cannot complete their experience without the suggested activity. Making non-essential suggestions required adds friction to checkout.
Troubleshooting
A product or activity I want to suggest doesn't appear in the list.
Only published items appear as options. Check that the product or activity exists in your catalog and is set to active/published. If you just created it, try saving that item first, then return to the Suggested configuration.
Guests aren't seeing the suggested items during checkout.
Suggestions only appear on new bookings made after you saved the configuration. Existing bookings are not affected. Also confirm you clicked Save on the Suggested page — navigating away without saving discards changes.
The "every guest" product is only showing once instead of per person.
Check the per-guest setting for that product on the Suggested page. If it's set to Lead Guest Only, change it to Every Guest and save.
