Many activities require travelers to use resources provided by their tour operator, such as a scuba tour that assigns its travelers flippers, goggles, and oxygen tanks for the duration of their activity. TripWorks provides the capability to automatically assign such resources during the booking process, track which resources are currently in use or scheduled to be used for upcoming experiences, and ultimately prevent overbooking.
How to Create Resource-Assignment Automations
Step 1: Create Resources & Resource Groups
Before you can set up resource-related automations, you must first ensure that the resources available to your customers are represented in the dashboard.
Visit Resources & Resource Groups for guidance on inputing, itemizing, and grouping your resources.
Step 2: Choose the Right Experience Capacity Setting
In order for your resource-related settings to take effect, you will need to set your Activity Capacity Limits to either the By Resources or By Resources - Many capacity setting.
Step 3: Assign Resource Usages
With your resources itemized and grouped, and with your activity capacity settings enabled for resource usage, you are able to define the specific settings that tell the platform which resources to assign to which customers for which activities. We call this Assigning Resource Usages.
