Filter, save views, and customize columns in list views

Filter any list in TripWorks, save the filters and columns as a view you can return to in one click, choose your columns, and share views with your team.

Most lists in TripWorks work the same way: filter them, choose your columns, and save the result as a view you can return to in one click. Learn it once and it applies across Sales, Customers, Gift Cards, Reviews, Messages, Waivers, Calls, Invoices, and Resellers.

The Manifest has its own view controls. See The Manifest view.

Filter a list

Select the filter icon above the list to open the filter panel. A badge on the icon shows how many filters are active. Combine filters to narrow the list, such as one activity, one source, and a date range.

Save a view

A view remembers your filters and your columns, so you don't set them up again.

  1. Set up the filters and columns you want.
  2. Select the Save icon above the list. Its tooltip reads Save this view.
  3. In Save New View, enter a View name, such as "Tomorrow's walk-ups" or "5-star reviews".
  4. Leave Share with team ticked to make it visible to everyone, or untick it to keep it to yourself.
  5. Save.

Share with team is on by default, so a new saved view is visible to your whole team. Untick it if you want a view for yourself only.

Switch between views

The view picker above the list shows the name of the view you're on, or Default View if you haven't chosen one. Open it to see All Views and pick one. The filters and columns swap in together.

To go back to the standard layout, choose Default Layout.

Update, rename, or delete a view

  • Update. Change the filters or columns, then select the Save icon again. Its tooltip now reads Update this saved view. Resizing or reordering columns in the list also saves to the view you're on.
  • Rename or delete. Open the view picker and use the pencil or trash icon next to a view.

Choose your columns

  1. Select the Choose columns icon above the list.
  2. In Customize Columns, search for a column or tick and untick columns to show or hide them.
  3. Select Done. Changes apply immediately.

Your column choices belong to the view you're on, so each saved view can show different columns.

Export a list

Sales, Customers, and Gift Cards have an Export button next to the view controls. It exports the list as it's currently filtered. See Export your customers, bookings & data.

Group the Manifest

The Manifest can group rows by time, by activity, or by time and pickup together (the last only when you use pickup locations). Grouping is saved with a Manifest view, alongside its filters and columns.

Opening a link with a view in it takes someone straight to that view. Because views are shared with the team by default, teammates can also find it in their own view picker.

Examples

  • Tomorrow's guests. Filter Sales to tomorrow's activity date, save it as "Tomorrow", and open it each morning.
  • Unread feedback. Filter Reviews to the ratings you want to follow up on and save it.
  • A tidy list for the front desk. Hide the columns they never use and save it as "Front desk".
  • A private working list. Save a view with Share with team unticked.

Frequently asked questions

Are saved views shared with my team?

By default, yes. The Share with team box is ticked when you save a view and makes it visible to all team members. Untick it to keep the view to yourself.

How do I update a saved view?

Change the filters or columns, then select the Save icon. Its tooltip reads "Update this saved view". Resizing or reordering columns also saves to the active view.

I removed columns and saved the view, but they came back

Check which view you were on. Column choices are stored on the view, so changes made while a different view is open are saved to that one. Reopen the view you saved to see its columns.

How do I go back to the standard layout?

Open the view picker and choose Default Layout.

Where can I use views?

On Sales, Customers, Gift Cards, Reviews, Messages, Waivers, Calls, Invoices, and Resellers. The Manifest has its own view controls.
