Groups often want to split the cost of a trip — everyone paying their own share, or one person covering a few tickets. TripWorks gives you a few ways to do it.
In this article
Two ways to split
- Apply an exact amount — take a payment for the specific amount one guest wants to contribute toward the total.
- Use the Tab feature — select the specific booking(s) a guest wants to pay for and run a payment for just those bookings, so each person pays for their own tickets and add-ons.
The Split Payment Calculator
After a group activity, the calculator helps settle the bill two ways:
- Individual tabs — each guest pays for their own tickets and add-ons. For example, if four guests each have a $10 ticket but one added $60 of add-ons, that guest owes $70 and the others $10 each. One person can also cover several tabs at once.
- Even split — divide the total evenly so everyone pays the same "fair share," regardless of who ordered what.
Pick whichever the group prefers, and TripWorks does the math so you can take each payment cleanly.
Frequently asked questions
Can one guest pay for several people?
Yes. With the Tab feature, select multiple bookings and run a single payment for them — for example, one guest covering their own and a friend's ticket.
Can we split the total evenly instead?
Yes. The Split Payment Calculator can divide the total evenly into equal shares, or bill each guest for their own tab.
