A gift card is applied to a booking as a payment. Guests can redeem it themselves online, or you can apply it for them in the dashboard. Either way, any unused balance stays on the card for a future order.

Guests redeem at online checkout
On your online checkout, the guest opens Apply a Gift Card and enters the card number. The balance comes off the total, and a credit card covers anything still owed. Gift cards can be redeemed for experiences only — not to buy another gift card — and if the card doesn't fully cover an online order, the guest completes the rest with a card.
You apply it in the dashboard
To apply a gift card to a booking yourself:
- Open the trip and go to the Payments tab.
- Start a new Payment and choose Gift Card.
- Find the card by its code, enter the amount to apply, and select Apply Gift Card.
The amount is deducted from the card's balance and recorded on the trip. Gift card payments aren't charged processing fees.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to the leftover balance?
It stays on the card. A gift card can be applied to as many bookings as it takes to use up the balance; once it reaches $0 the card shows as Used.
Can a guest pay part of an online order with a gift card?
Online, the gift card needs to cover the full amount; otherwise they'll be asked to call you. In the dashboard you can apply a partial gift card amount and take the rest another way.
Why won't a gift card apply?
Check its status in Manage gift cards — a card that's pending (not yet activated), used, expired, or has a $0 balance can't be redeemed.
