No — TripWorks doesn't accept ACH or bank-transfer (direct-debit) payments. There's no setting to turn it on, and it won't appear on any checkout page or payment link. Here's what you can accept, and the best way to collect when a guest asks about paying "by bank."

What TripWorks accepts

Every TripWorks checkout — online, on a payment link, or at your desk — takes:

  • Credit and debit cards
  • Digital wallets — Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link (these are backed by the guest's card)
  • Klarna — pay-over-time, if you've enabled it (US, USD)
  • In person — tap/dip/swipe on a TripWorks card reader

There is no bank-account / ACH option in any of these.

Collecting when a guest wants to "pay by bank"

Send them a payment link and let them pay by card or wallet:

  1. From the guest's booking (or Lead Center), send a request for payment / payment link — see create a request-for-payment message.
  2. The guest opens the link and pays with a card, Apple Pay/Google Pay/Link, or Klarna.

For an in-person guest, take the card on a card reader.

Many guests who ask about "ACH" or "paying by bank" are really asking for a way to pay without handing over a card in person — a payment link solves that. It just settles on a card or wallet, not a bank transfer.

What about fees?

Because there's no ACH, there's no separate (cheaper) ACH rate — payments settle at your normal card-processing rates through Stripe. If you pass card fees on to guests, that surcharge applies the same way regardless of card vs wallet. See pass credit card fees to your customers.

Frequently asked questions

Can a guest pay me by ACH or bank transfer?

No. TripWorks checkout accepts credit/debit cards, digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link), and Klarna — there's no bank-transfer or ACH option anywhere in the product.

Is there a setting to turn on ACH?

No — it isn't a feature that can be enabled. Even if bank debits were switched on in your Stripe dashboard, TripWorks checkout only offers card, wallet, and Klarna, so a bank option wouldn't appear.

My guest doesn't want to give a card over the phone — what do I do?

Send a payment link (a request-for-payment message). The guest opens it and pays securely with their card or a digital wallet — no card details shared with you. See Create a request-for-payment message.

Can I take a bank payment on the card reader?

No. The card reader takes tap, dip, and swipe card payments (and card-backed wallets), not bank/ACH.

Isn't ACH cheaper — am I missing out on lower fees?

Since ACH isn't offered, there's no ACH rate to compare against. Payments run at your standard card-processing rates. You can pass card fees to guests if you'd like — see Pass credit card fees to your customers.

What are all the ways a guest can pay?

Online or by link: credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, and Klarna (if enabled). In person: a card reader. A guest can also have a saved card charged for a follow-on balance.

Can I invoice a guest and have them wire the money?

TripWorks doesn't process wires or bank transfers. If a guest insists on paying by bank outside TripWorks, you'd handle that off-platform and record the payment manually on the trip — but the booking itself can't collect it.
