When a booking comes from one of your resellers, attributing it to them keeps your commissions, performance reporting, and partner management accurate. There are two ways to do it.
In this article
Option 1 — from the reseller's record
Open the reseller in Resellers, go to their Trips, and start a booking with the Book action there. Because you began from that reseller, the booking is already attributed to them — no need to set it later.
(If the reseller isn't listed, they need to be connected first.)
Option 2 — while booking, choose "Reseller" as the method
If you're already in the normal booking flow, you can attribute it as you go:
- Book as usual — choose the activity, date, and guest details.
- On the payment/checkout step, set the Method to Reseller.
- Select the reseller to attribute the booking to.
- Optionally tag a reseller agent — the individual rep who made the sale. The agent list appears once you've picked the reseller (agents belong to a reseller), and choosing one credits the sale to that rep for commission and performance reporting. If the agent you need isn't listed, they have to be added to that reseller first.
Either way, the booking is tagged to the reseller so it rolls into their commission and reporting — and, if they're on invoice terms, onto their invoice.
Frequently asked questions
How do I attribute a booking to a reseller?
Two ways: start the booking from the reseller's own Trips (it's attributed automatically), or in the normal booking flow set the Method to Reseller on the checkout step and pick the reseller.
Do I have to set the reseller before I start booking?
No. You can either begin from the reseller's record (attributed up front) or choose Reseller as the method during checkout and select them there.
The reseller isn't showing up — why?
They likely aren't connected yet. Add/connect the reseller first, then they'll appear both in the Resellers list and in the Method → Reseller picker during booking.
Can I also tag which agent made the sale?
Yes. After you pick the reseller during checkout, choose the agent from that reseller's list — agents belong to a reseller, so the list appears only after you've selected one. Tagging the agent credits the sale to that rep in commission and performance reporting.
What does attributing to a reseller affect?
Commission calculation, reseller performance reporting, and — if the reseller is on invoice terms — whether the booking lands on their invoice rather than charging the guest at booking.
